Default 2001 beetle throttle body noise

I had posted earlier about my 2001 Beetle making a noise, I want to know if anyone has experienced a problem with the butterfly being loose and rattling inside the throttle body. I think this may be echoing inside the plenum any ideas or ways to fix this other than replacing the whole throttle body. thanks

Hmm, I would think it wouldn't be the butterfly that was lose but the TB is really easy to take off and check out. I don't even remember if that is something you can tighten. Are you sure its your TB and not something like your clutch plate?

I had a vibration though my intake manifold and it turned out someone at some point cut the brackets holding the back of the intake to the exhaust manifold heat shield.Shounds like this could be your issue as well.Reach your hand behind the intake manifold (closest to the firewall) and feel if the bracket is still bolted together....Just a thought as i have never seen any throttle body butterflie bolts loosening in the 20 plus years i've worked on Dub's
