It very likely could be the starter bearing. thats typically what the grind or squeel sound is upon startup.

Mine has it as well, gettin a new starter in 2 weeks. I tested the starter out. No good. For the most part, cold temperatures causes it to happen more often.

I think what most are refering to is the starter solinoid slowly slidding back after start-up..??? This is caused by dirt and cold & lack of lubrication and wear....

Mine doesn't sound like a grind, it's a whizzzzz sound? Perhaps like a flywheel not catching.
