Were you looking to upgrdae your mounts or just replace worn out stock ones? We have a few different options for stock replacements, as well as VF mounts that are upgraded:

Volkswagen New Beetle 2.0 > Drivetrain > Mounts

You should replace the DOGBONE mount first as this tends to lead to the most movement of the engine... Then do the ones on either side..There are three in total...I used the Prothane dog bone kit from QMR for 28 buck's Canadian funds. This mount is harder than stock so you will feel more of the engine vibration...

I don't want to spit in ecs's face, or anyone else on here, but here are a few more options. Like stated above, the beetle uses MKIV mounts.

And to answer your original question, unless you are going for crazy power, an upgrade to stage 1 poly is fine.

Most people only poly the dogbone mount and keep the side ones factory. the poly side mounts re great if you really want to keep engine movement to a minimal, but it just leads to more noise than most people want in thier cars, especially if your engine isn't built up like crazy.

The VF mounts are pretty awesome, but again, if you don't have a big power motor, thats just money your throwing out the drain just to have the flashy mounts.

Oh snap!

Ordered a poly 1 side mount for a local nb enthusiast, she was very pleased with the results, much smoother. Priced well for quality.

Paid in buffalo chicken wings and pizza! What a deal!...

I won't supply a link, wouldn't want to start any trouble guys,

I didnt meant to start a fight or spit in to a sponsers face. I do not have a lot of money and was looking for the cheapest and best choice. And if you ask for what think well i will tell you that i dont care if a sponser posts a link it is my choise to use it or not. Do you buy something just because some one bumps what they are selling on the parts section. No or there would not be a several threads out there with nohting but bumps.

Thanks for all the help ( and the laugh on my lunch break.)

I know this is an old Post but I am about to install new MotorMounts. All three of them. Just the plain Factory ones nothing Poly. I was just wondering how difficult it is to install these mounts? I know the dogbone is a piece of cake but I am more worried about the side mounts. How difficult is it to get to them and can you reach all the bolts without removing a lot of parts? I searched high and low but there just isn't a good write up or DIY for replacing the Motor Mounts on a New Beetle. If anyone has some detailed instructions or could post a link on a DIY I would deeply appreciate it.

My beetle has 160 k miles and it desperately needs those mounts.
