Default Kilometers to Miles ?

I just got an 07 New Beetle that was made in Mexico so the speedometer/odometer is in kilometers, any one know how to change it to miles? Do I simply need to change the cluster or is there more to it?

Hate to break it to ya but it is probably a Canadian version as all cars here are in KM'S. If you look closly at the cluster on the inside of the KM's there is also MPH. But otherwise you would have to change the cluster...Probably expensive as well...

Yeah I think it should have mph on the inside portion of the cluster. I know my cluster has km on the inside. Not sure if you can swap clusters easily or not, at least on newer vehicles.

All NBs were made in Mexico so thats not necessarily why its in KMs. Depends on where the car is going to in the end as to what units its cluster is in.

My '98 NB is Canadian and it has miles. If you find someone with a VCDS (aka Vag-Com) you can switch it. Here is the how to thread...
