Default LOUD CLUNK when turning left????

2000 with a 2.0 liter, manual transmission, 130,000 miles.
Just noticed the other day when I turn left *ONLY* at crawling speed there is a loud clunk in the front end on the left side.Have not driven it since because it is significant. The engine and the front left wheel both jump. There are no issues when driving straight, no issues when backing up or turning right. There are also no issues when I turn sharp left and I am coasting, always under load.Replaced the outer CV Joint the other day as I thought there was play, no different, but it seems as though there is play coming from the tierod or rack. Removed the left tieod and it looks not bad but with maybe some slop but not excessive, maybe the play is in the rack? I am thinking maybe Strut Mount but I am unsure on how to tell if they are bad? Going to replace Tierod and look at Motor Mounts this morning?
Would anybody out there have any other ideas?

Def sounds like the strut top mount is bad.

A single clunk or a multiple clunk or click sound.

If it is a continuous clunk sound its the CV joint.
Loud clunk could be strut mount. Your going to have to have alignment done. Replaicng the strut mount will most likely tweak the caster a little bit.

Question

Well did the Tie Rod assembly and the Strut Mount and Bearing and no different. Had another person here watching the car as I was turning left and they said they could see movement in the left front tire when the clunk happens. Looks as though the consensus is an inner CV joint on the drivers side. Good thing my wife has lots of money! IF she had loads of money we would buy a new car!
Back to the drawing board.

Thanks for your replies.

a clunk would normally be the strut mount, if it's not that, it could be the control arm bushings or ball joint. you noticed movement--those are my usual suspects.
