Default New Starter?

Help! My starter is making a noise when I crank the motor. It's like a whizzzzzzzzing noise. It's worse when it's cold, and it doesn't do it everytime. I am afraid I'm going to be purchasing a new one, anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!!!

I checked it out and it lead me to another thread. (I couldn't find anything about starters when I searched I promise) However, I think I know what it is. I am thinking it is that my starter doesn't get used enough. I seldom drive him, maybe start him once a week. Maybe I will try giving him a start up ever day for a while, and see what happens. Thanks Jose!!!

Its just the starter sticking slightly, just ignore it, they go on for years like this (mines been like it for 22k now!).

When it warms up you'll find it stops.

If it really bothers you either remove it and grease up the internals or buy a new one. My advice - save your $$$ and ignore it

Thanks!!! I choose, to let it go! I think part of it must be that I don't start him enough! Like I said somewhere, that I think I will go out and start him once a day. You are right, Archiebug, it does quit after it warms up! I'm so glad I don't have to part with my cash, we have become so attatched to each other! Besides, I need to save it for a Sunny day!
