Default How do I clean throttle body?

Hello everyone,

I am having EPC problems, a few months ago I had the same problems and it turned out to be a dirty throttle body (caused by a bad cat) I paid the dealership a couple hundred dollars to clean it. I was wondering if it's possible to clean myself. If so, does anyone have instructions on how to do so? Or, do you think I should try fuel injector cleaner first?

Take it off and spray it out with CRC Throttle Body and Intake Cleaner and reinstall it. Also it would not hurt to use CRC QD Electronic Cleaner on the electrical connectors.

You can get them at Wal-Mart.

According to the dealership my catalytic convertor is too small and because of this my throttle body keeps getting dirty. It seems odd to me as well, but that's what I've been told!

Is the throttle body easy to get at?

Thanks!

Just replaced mine, not too bad to get to but a little tight in some spots. We romoved the top of the Air Filter Box and tube to give you more room to work with. There is only several hoses on the bottom and a couple plugs and 4 bolts that hold the throttle body on. Good luck n hope that helps a little.
