I would feel more comfortable buying a new one but I honestly do not know.. I wish I could help you more.. Give it time because most people are at work so maybe this evening you will get more answers.. My airbag light is on but do not have the money right now to take it to dealer to get it scanned..

What exactly is going on? You mean that your airbag light is on?

I would get a second opinion from a VW shop before you go spending big money to replace a perfectly good part. Most commonly when the Airbag light comes on, the seatbelt retainer needs to be replaced which isn't that much money.

Just because a dealer told you one thing doesn't always mean its correct!

just wondering if you have managed to fix the airbag fault? I have a 2003 2.0L cabrio and have the same fault. The fault code is 00003 and the airbag light remains on. Any update on your situation would be helpful.
thanks, paul

There was a recall on the 03 NBC's airbag. Something to do with a sensor causing the light to come on. Have you checked with your dealer on this?
