I know I'm not mechanically inclined, but I thought sure I could get the radio out of Ernie!! I got the VW "tools" and did what the manual said, "It Should Slide Right Out" NOT. Can anyone help me out???

make sure the angled side on the tools are inward (toward radio) on both tools, then insert them and it will click into a groove and then you have to pull on both evenly. I had trouble on mine, but it definately slides out, but even tension on both sides helps. They gather dust and gunk around the radio and sometimes its hard to get out.

Thanks, I'll give it another try tomorrow. I got the right side to move, but the left side wouldn't budge.

OK I followed the UTube demenstration and It slid out perfectly. I changed the fuse in the back, turned the radio on, and SAFE came on, and then it started playing!!!! I still have a problem with my cd changer though, it will work fine for a few minutes then stop and go to cd error.
