Yup, but that's caused by a stuck throttle linkage... it happened to me after i did some work around the linkage, and it only happens if you floor it... a good jolt got it unstuck, and a very liberal coat of white lithium grease made sure it's not gonna happen again. You can't do that with a drive by wire toyota pos

Well anyway, did the water pump today... YAY!

Well today is the day to start the work. I'm on vacation and don't go back to work until Wednesday and my soon to be ex is in Camas Washington at her sister's wedding until Monday night. 21 year old Stepson (read mechanic)is off work and it's good a time as any to get cracking. STS is going to be at my house if I need a car. I'm doing the work in my neighbor's garage right next to his 3rd place in Nationals 1940 Dodge pickup. He's got an awesome set of tools not to mention a huge heated garage. It's nice now, but its supposed to drop in the next couple of days. I'll update later tonight. Wish me luck!

Packages from ECS are boxes of goodness in my opinion.

Im always so excited to get goodies from them, such as my antenna and scheduled maintenaince parts.

Good luck on your tb and wp!

Only have about 2.5 hours into my maintenance project. Vance says our NB's are easy to work on. I guess that is comparatively speaking to his 1986 BMW 325. TB/WP are in and timed correctly. Spun the motor with the crank sprocket by hand and all felt well. Kicked it with the starter and no noises. Went to put the serpentine belt on and couldn't remember the routing and it was late anyways. I'm going to search to see how it's routed. Started it up with no serpentine or G12 in it and all is well. Now to do oil change, thermostat, and plugs and wires.

All work completed. Tune up was kind of a pita. I pulled the intake back to get to the plugs easier. The first plug and last plug were really tight. I was afraid one would break in the block but they came out OK. I also unbolted the secondary air pump to get to the wires. After putting the intake back on, found a cracked vacuum hose that goes from the back side of the intake. Fixed that with some good fuel line hose. Now the tstat. No easy way to pull that bottom bolt out. That took me 45 minutes alone. Got everything put back together and CEL on and throttle all over the place. Found TPS unplugged. Running great now. Friend with the '65 Herbie came by this morning with his scan tool and cleared it all up. Haven't really driven it yet, but I will a little today.
