Not sure what you mean but almost any autoparts stores should have a plug gapping tool...

I'm guessing you are looking for the specification? I've never been under the hood of a gasser VW but it might be posted on a sticker in the engine compartment, above the radiator.

I was recently (today) looking for this information. It turned out that it is quite hard to find specific information online. I decided to sum up what I've found. There is some discrepancy. I set mine to about .040" Google

Plugs that I removed were like .047 some of them. Which make me think they were installed uncalibrated given their somewhat good appearance.

P.S. Also I was not sure about torquing. I was afraid to break thread, and I read some people recommend when it is really tight (without ratchet) to make another 1/8 - 1/4 turn. I didn't trust my cheap torque wrench, but it did release at 120 inch pounds (10 ft lbs) when it was slightly more than 1/8 of the turn.
