Default Big Problem!

Ok, were to start... Long story short. 2.0 manuel 99.
I was at work and, My baby started acting funny. Idels fine, sounds and runs fine ontell you press the gas peddal. At about 4 k it will bog down and die. So I clocked out and went home. Reset the ecm. Now it starts fine and idles fine for about 1 sec, then the gass peddal actuily moves up and down. bogs down and dies, or back fires and dies. Timing is fine and the engine internals are fine. good gas, and starting procedures are normal. I think its the TPS or Crank sensor. not sure if those are the problems tho. I do not have a check engine light on. IM SO WORRYD............

Any help is greatly apreciated....

Default not a tech but...

I'm not a technician by any means but the symptoms you describe (without "check engine" lamp) sound similar to fuel starvation. I would begin by replacing the fuel filter(which should be inexpensive and accessible) and work from there. Let us know what you have tried so that we can eliminate possible causes...

Do you have Vag-Com? If yes, you can check the TPS. Is the tach working? If yes, the crank sensor is most likely OK.
Fuel is a good guess. If fuel filter is OK, then look at the fuel pressure regulator next.

Ok I had a friend come over with a vag-com. nothing.... I replaced the MAF. Nothing.... If it was the TPS or Crank senser. It would have probably shown on the VAG. So now im thinking fuel filter/pressure reg.

P.S. Thank you for your help so far. MUCHO Appreciated!!!

Update. tuseday I kinda got frustrated and started disconecting sensors.... Found the problem! On the bottem of the trottle body there is a 6 wire connection. I think its the TPS/Cruse control sensor. But im not sure. I also have herd that if it goes bad I need to buy a whole new trottle body.... any one know anything about this?
