Default Not VW related but you might be able to help

My buddies truck keeps dying on him when it gets to opperating temperature, we replaced the distributor, the ignition module, fuel pumps, vac hoses, fuel injectors etc etc.

Its an 89 f150 5.0 v8

To me it sounds like a crack in ancomputer board or a solderd pin concetion failure. A friend of mine has one of those pontiacs with the factory super charger.Anyway that car was doing the same thing as your friends truck. The ECM was on top of the engine( what a stupid place for that) so when the car warmed up it would die. He said that the shop he took it to told him that there was a crack or lose connction in the ECM an when things warmed up the crack would expand and lose connction and kill the car. could it be something like this?

yeah yeah yeah im not going to argue the whole ford thing, someone had mentioned the ECU, Ill take it apart and check the solders and re-solder like I had to do to my microswitch.

Just wondering you did not mention; are there any water/oil temp sensors to replace?
