I have a 1998 beetle that is having trouble starting when it is raining or damp out. I am guessing that it is an electrical problem but I am not sure where to look. It is hard to start and will stall out at an idle. Once the engine has warmed up it acts fine.

My first guess would be the ignition coil. They can crack and get moisture in them.
