Fuel filter? Thats what it sounds like to me...Or your MAF sensor.

is there a CEL? In most cases, engine misfire, O2 sensor, or MAF will throw a code(s).

Fuel filter should be $12 - $15 bucks and takes maybe 10 minutes to change. Good luck.

Also check your vac lines (diagram on the fan shroud)...especially the one to the FPR. Vac lines are the "hidden" probelms for bad ideling. Our lines inside diameter is 3.5 mm.

Don't forget to check the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator

You have to squeeze them (carefully) then they just pop off. Be careful, the lines are plastic and tend to get brittle. There is a "how-to" thread on the old forum. Good luck! Also pay attention to how the filter goes on, there is an arrow that indicates flow direction.

ok thanks will try that found my noise it was the heat sheild over the first muffler not the cat! they use those cheap right/nut things and they rusted out. the front two were still on there but the back two let go so the sheild was sittin on the exhaust makin the noise. so i just put two washers and nuts on them and took care of the problem. also i changed my right lower ball joint and ended up having to use a torch to get the nut off, however unfortunatly i hit the cv boot and burned a hole in it so made a 15 min job into a 2 day job!
