Check Engine Light Mystery
Ok,
2001 VW Beetle and the check engine light keeps coming on and going off later. My theory is it keep sgoing on if the heat is on 'full heat'. When it is not all the way to the max heat setting it doesn't seem to come on. The light will come on and then about 100 miles later go off. Took it to autozone when the light was on to have the code read and it said 'no diagnotic information'. Was going to take it to a mechanic (and pay to have it read), but it went off. Any ideas? Thanks!

If its been on, there will be a code. Take it somewhere that has a better code reader. The CEL doesn't have to be on for there to be a code stored.
