Default Two Problems for New Bettle Owner

Bought my daughter a 2003 beetle with 112,000 miles on it a couple of weeks ago. Its a nice car and drives great. It is a 2.0 with a 5 speed manual transmission. About 3 days after we bought it, the check engine light came on. Went to Autozone and had the code pulled. It is PO422. The car runs great with the light on.

The second problem has started to occur since it has turned colder here in Southern Ohio, when the is cold and when you drive it for about 10 minutes, the clutch pedal sticks about half way down. You have to pull the pedal back to the top with your foot. As the car warms up the pedal does not stick as much and after about 15 minutes of driving it is fine.

My daughter and I are new beetle owners, any advice for these new problems would be great.

Thanks in Advance

The P0422 code is probably a bad Oxygen Sensor. I would bet it's the one before the Cat. If you replace it the code will probably go away.

On the second issue there is probably air in the hydraulic system for the clutch and the system needs to be bled. You can try and do it yourself but without the proper tool it may be a messy job.
