Default Buying the right O2 sensor

Just digging around online, not sure why this is an issue.. but coming across many FORWARD O2 sensor part #s and some sites say this # works for my car, others don't. grr.

anyways.
2001 2.0 5peed bug

Looking at the:
Bosch 16121

Is that one best/cheapest/works for my car? (want the plug on it, don't want to have to solder or crimp)
Also, I know I should have an O2 tool to remove the old one, but any tricks in getting this done without this O2 tool?

Thanks!!

This thread might be helpful. These from German Auto Parts are probably the ones you want.

Thanks. Well that thread the guy never mentions what O2 part he got (and he has a 99).
That other link is about $40 more the price as to what I see on amazon for parts "I think" will work.
hmm..

GAP sells good stuff, and you can *know* it works, rather than *hope* it will. I've never bought auto parts off of amazon and I doubt I ever would. Buy parts from reputable places that will stand by their parts and be able to tell you if the part will work for sure or not.

22 mm. wrench, if you can fit it up where you need to go. I use one with the box end cut off and put a slight bend a few inches down from the open end. I am a professional mechanic and do not have an o2 wrench in my box.

Right. Although I have a set of O2 sensor sockets, they don't make too much advantage when trying to take O2 sensor off/on. Typically it's not easy to use a short 3/8 wrench to loosen it so I need to use my 1/2 wrench and it's not easier than the 22mm wrench. Just make sure you don't rip the sensor off with the open end.

Thanks man. I can get a cheap 22mm and modify it just for this purpose.
Now Im sure someone out there has bought an O2 sensor for a 2001 and knows a part #. (Python) It's not a secret is it?

Looks like it should fit. If it doesn't you can always return it. Amazon has a great return policy. Here is another link for O2 Sensors front and rear:
00 2000 Volkswagen Beetle Oxygen Sensor - Fuel Injection - Beck Arnley, Bosch, Delphi, Denso, Standard Motor Products, Walker Products Inc., Downstream, Front, Rear - PartsGeek

As far as the wrench goes you can usually rent it for Free from Autozone. I have done that in the past. They may ask for a deposit but you will get it back when you return the tool.

GermanAutoParts.com

These will work for the 2001 2.0 but German Autoparts is more expensive than Partsgeek or some other Online Merchants at least in that department.

What is your engine code? AEG, AVH, AZG ??

Actually I bought mine from amazon.com. There are 2 models one is direct fit and the other you need to cut and solder the wires.

Come on man, I'm using a Bosch 15733 which only cost $43.xx on Amazon with free shipping. The Bosch 16121 is the direct fit one.

I did a look found that the 16121 is direct fit and cost $76.xx on amazon. The cheapest one is Bosch 15733 but you have to use the original harness and cut+solder the wires. The 15733 costs $43.xx on amazon.
