Cool Maf

If you unhook your maf and your car runs worse does this mean it is working?

It might be working but it doesn't always set a CEL. When mine started to die it set a PO171 System Too Lean (Bank 1)code first.
Then it gradually lost power under hard loudpedal and up grades.
When that started it didn't matter whether the MAF was connected or not she ran the same.
Maybe try cleaning the MAF with electrical contact cleaner
and see if it runs better.
(make sure you dont install it until it's completely dry!!

Default be patient

When cleaning with contact cleaner, also be patient. Ive avoided the dealer theives twice now with that trick but it takes a while for the error code to clear. If you put it back and the check engine light doesnt clear, dont assume it didnt work right away.
