Default Upsolute Chip

Have you been satisfied with the upsolute chip in your 2.0? Please let me know your experience. All feedback is wellcome. I have a 2004 GLS 2.0 and I am looking for more torque and better throttle response. Thanks!

There's also Rocketchip and GIAC. People say upsolute is the best for comfort driving, and people say GIAC is the most extreme.

If you want something a bit more, i'd reccomend getting a small techtonics cam, an exhaust, or an intake.

A urethane dongbone mount insert would give you more feel of hte engine and better shift feel.

Would this stop my engine from rocking so much at idle? I can see it visibly shaking with the hood up, and I'm almost positive that it's responsible for causing a clacking sound from the engine.

Now the $1,000,000 question: Can I do this myself?

If it's anything like the TDI...the "chip" can mean different things. Sometimes it means reprogramming your computer...in which case you can uninstall the computer, send it to the chip programmer, then reinstall. Yes you can uninstall and reinstall. But the car will be down while it is getting programmed. For the TDI it's not a part you buy and then plug in to the car...but it may be different for the gasser.

Upsolute usually has vendors you can take your car to, leave for a day, and then pick up completed. I believe this is what I have read. Other chip tuners may not have someone in your area so you have to remove the computer and send it to them.

It's do-able, I didn't do mine myself. All i hear you gotta do is have the front of the car raised up, and use a car jack to hold the engine up while hte mount is removed.

Found this for all those interested in the dogbone mount:
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1588015

It was done on a 99' Jetta, with a 2.0AEG engine, so it should be almost the same for us!
