150,000 Miles on My 2001

Coming upon 150,000 miles on my 2001 New Beetle! It runs great, have taken precaution to change oil at regular
intervals. When needed taken to the shop as soon as needed. I have a concern though. I decided I am not going to buy a new car and just invest the money back into my beetle. What would be suggested to have done on it to make it stay dependable and enduring enough to take long trips in it still. I am planning to have all the hoses replaced but what else would one suggest in having done to it? What does a complete overhaul involved in a beetle, if I do that?

It sounds like you take excellent care of your car. It should go a lot longer before an overhaul is needed. You should be able to go another 100K miles before the motor starts to fail.

A few usual things to consider. Change the oil in the transmission, flush the brake fluid, have the A/C serviced, change the power steering fluid, and the coolant will be changed by default when the hoses are changed.

Some things to have checked are the shocks, ball joints, wheel bearings, brakes/rotors, and the CV joints and boots.

To get an idea of how well the motor is doing, a compression test, and oil analysis will give you some good data.
