Default best exhaust for a 2.0L/recommendations

what is a good brand of exhaust to purchase for the 2.0L?

Here are some brands I'm looking at:

Megan
Remus
Magnaflow
(each of which is around $300-$350)

and then there is the OEM VW exhaust, except that's $800!!!!!!

so just shoot me some comments/recommendations...is this mod "worth" it? I am looking for a little boost, my car needs to get it's vrooooom on!

I have a Greddy Racing exhaust, sounds great, was around $300. Chrome dual tips, cat back stainless.

On a 2.0 stick with a small diameter exhaust, nothing larger then 2.25". The Megan unit is 2.5" and you'll lose some low end torque with it.

Look into Ansa. They're sold through www.ecstuning.com. I've heard lots of nice things about them. Excellent quality, good sound and a good price.

You should not be prone to an CEL problems like the 1.8T is with a turbo-back.

Neuspeed is usually a little loud in general.

Magnaflow is usually a little loud also.

Remus is a sweet sounding exhaust on any car you put it on. Very European sounding, if you catch my drift.

Also, Look into Supersprint. They're a little expensive, but if you get one of their axle-backs and have a muffler shop take out the stock resonator and replace it with a straight-pipe you'll stay under $500. They are also excellent exhausts that have a very euro-tuned sound to them and a great reputation.

Yes, an exhaust is possible for a person to install in ther driveway if you have tall jackstands and another person to help you out.
