Default filter

First remove the lower engine cover (4 torx screws) from under the front of car. It is right in the middle between radiator and engine block. It is a black plastic housing that holds the cartridge type filter.

The 2.5L uses a cartridge filter--slamming a screwdriver through it in this case would be bad, very bad.
