Default Compare Old and New EPA Beetle MPG Estimates

Here are the new converted EPA Fuel Mileage estimates for the New Beetle 2.5 AT

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/calcu...umn=1&id=23159

EPA has changed the way it estimates MPG.

Starting in model year 2008, estimates will reflect the effects of

Faster Speeds & Acceleration
Air Conditioner Use
Colder Outside Temperatures

What else do I need to know about the new ratings?
The tests lower MPG estimates for most vehicles.

Convert old MPG estimates to new estimate

The actual mileage you get will still vary based on your driving habits, traffic conditions, and other factors.

All MPG estimates in Find-a-Car have been converted to the to the new ratings system to help consumers compare the MPG of older and newer cars.

Well, it's about time they woke up. I never got the mileage claimed on any car I ever bought.

Ya, this is right on the money for me. I'm LUCKY to see 21 in the city and I just took a road trip and got about 30.1 mpg on 100% freeway. This is a VERY good estimate in my opinion and experience.

Hmmmmmm.....I am getting about 35-36mpg. I bought my 2007 in September and have 25,000 miles on it already. Most of my driving is on the highway and I always use premium.

That's interesting. Maybe you are able to control the "lead foot" syndrome I seem to have in my NB. I calculated mine recently, including LA traffic and rapid acceleration to pass folks, and came out at 27.8 mpg

I wouldn't say JB gets great mileage but I'm a definite lead foot who drives in 'sport' 24/7.
