Wanna know if this is normal..
My '07 is wonderful....but when I start the engine, it's very loud and it idles at 1500rpm. The engine feels so much stronger than my old '02. I'm not that good with cars but is it because it's a 2.5 liter or because it has five cylinders instead of four?? I just want to make sure everything is ok.

Yes, it is completely normal. If you let it sit for about 30 seconds after you start it the engine will quiet down and turn lower RPM's. I believe it is a "smog prevention" thing.

All the 2.5's I've driven does that. My Bug doesn't do it that much (start-up idle is 1000, drops to 900). Nothing to worry about though.

That is perfectyly normal, the 5 cylinder Volvo's do the same thing.
