After you get used to the 2.5, you'll find it has enough oomph...and it's lots of fun!

WELCOME to the org...hope you have a great stay here!

BTW...GREAT color choice for your NB!!

I just got my 08 Salsa Red NB last week and I LOVE it. It is such a fun car to drive and has much more zip and pep than my 03 TDI that I traded in.

'08 Triple White. We love it. The 150 HP in this little car is plenty to keep me happy.

Bought my '06 'vert about a month ago now. I am so impressed with the 2.5L 5 cyl and 6 speed auto trans. They are an excellent match together. The 5 cyl is much more powerful than I expected. I have always driven 8 or 6 cylinder vehicles and swore I would never own anything less than a 6 cyl because of the lack of power. But after test driving this 5 cyl, I was stunned at teh performance. And completely speechless at how, when the A/C is on, there seems to be no impact on the engine's performance. Can't say that about my V8 and V6 cars.

I've had my '08 Black NB-S, 5-speed manual for one year now.
It has 8000 miles on it and I absolutely love every mile that I've put on it. No problems at all with it.
I have to schedule time with it because my wife loves to drive it too!

Only 8k on a 2008?

I got mine in November 2008 with 15 miles... It is probably going to roll over 15,000 this weekend!

Default 2007 and 2008 New Beetle and love it.

Have a Salsa Red (for the shop) and a 3W for every day driving and love them both.
No problems with the cars yet.
Now that I said that I hope it stays that way.
2.5 has plenty of power for me.

22,000 on my 2009 2.5L. its no dragster......but the drop top more than makes up for the lack of power i had in my 1.8T GTI.....but then again my vert is an auto and my gti was a manual, so that might explain some of the feeling of power loss.....

I just got a 2.5L this past weekend. Coming from a 2.0 with a 4-spd auto trans, the 6-spd Tiptronic has a heck of a lot more power!

Used to have a 2002 Snap Orange, now we are planning to get a 2010 Aquarius Blue today or tomorrow.

After we sold the Snap due to an engine failure, my wife keeps telling me I want to get a new beetle.

And those final editions are nice.

I would post if we get it.

I have a 2.5L 2007 Blue NB with 51000 miles. I traded a 2005 camry LE for it and paid 12,900.00. I love the speed and excellent mileage. I just changed the plugs and am waiting to see how much it improved my gas mileage. I also use RXP in the tank and notice a improvement in the response and at idle.

I ,like the rest, monitor different discussions and give my two cents if warranted.

I retired in april and this is my retirement gift to myself. I posted some pictures and just installed a ham rig in the car. I don't know if I can help, but let me know.

I had a 66 and a 74 Sunbug in a previous life.
