Hi Folks,
I have a 2006 NBC with 25k miles - yesterday morning about 20 seconds after I started it the blue "cold" coolant light (it was about 50 degrees out) was suddenly replaced by a blinking red coolant light and several loud beeps. I shut it off and checked under the hood, the coolant level was over min but not by much. I got back in and started it, the blue cold coolant light came back on and the car ran fine with no repeat the rest of the day. This morning the exact same thing happened, but it was a bit colder out and took a few minutes of driving before the off/on trick worked (but then as yesterday ran fine without issue.) Is the red blinking light low coolant or is it blue coolant blink? What about the three(?) loud beeps? Thanks! |

i just had this issue and was at the dealer yesterday.....
and i quote.... "sometimes the coolant gets air pockets in it, when this happens it releases and fills with coolant making your vehicle believe it is low on coolant other times it may be the angle your vehicle is parked in. we have experienced the same thing with some of the volvos its a pretty common thing" i added a touch of water to mine....DO NOT ADD ANY OTHER COOLANT OTHER THEN THE PINK COOLANT FROM DEALER!!!!!! if you mix the coolants i have been informed the pink coolant turns to jello. When are you do for service again? If it is fairly soon they can do what they did with my 06 which is drain and refill the coolant so has no air pockets. Personally i freaked when my light came on looked it up saw was low coolant and saw my coolant appeared to be fine added water light went away but was back in a few days. oh and herbs has 40k on him so mine started a little bit later then yours

What is your coolant level like? If its close to the min, it could trigger the level sensor. I would add some coolant if its close to the min level and see if it fixes it.
