2.5L gas mileage

Hey there New Beetle people I have just signed up to this great website and I am the proud owner of a 2007 Platinum Grey Metalic Beetle with a manual 5 spd. I was wondering what kind of gas mileage anybody else is experiencing with theirs. I am working on 25mpg in city with about 7,000 miles on the odo. When I first bought her I was only getting about 21 city but after the first oil change she has bumped up a bit. I can't keep from grinning when I am driving or from full on smiling when I zip past someone and see the surprise on their face in my rear view mirror when my little car slips right on by. thought I would stop by and say HI.

IDK about city but highway I have seen as much as 38 to 40. I have a five speed also. Isn't it great to get the slip up on other cars when they don't expect it out of a beetle.

Did a quick in and out between O'Hare Field and downtown Milwaukee yesterday. Ran between 70-75 the entire way. Filled up before leaving and again when we got home. Averaged 33.6mpg. I'm happy.

So in my '05 Jetta 2.5, automatic, 34 mpg on the Highway at steady 65 mph.Yeah!
