Default Help needed, oil filter leaking

I did the first oil change today on the GFs 2007 vert and dropped the panzer pan,( I had all the right sizes), drained the pan and changed out the filter. Re-filled and started the engine and it looked OK so I reinstalled the panzer plate. Then after a break I went back to lower the lift and clean up the tools and noticed oil under the car??? I had the GF hold the RPM at 2K and crawled under and sure enough I had a drip. So I removed the filter and took a look, everything looked good. Tapered seals tab pointed up when in the housing and tightened enough. Any ideas? TIA

What kind of filter? I heard bad reports about FRAM, that they might do that, but I've used a FRAM once, and no drips.
My bf also always smears some oil on the filter seal.
Hard to tell from your post if you're sure the drip is from the filter or not?
If it's not from the filter, then maybe an issue with the crush washer on the drain plug? Did you change the crush washer?

Default Yes it was a Fram, and

after a quick dinner I pulled the cannister(the leak was at the seal end) and measured the length of the cartridge and compared it to the factory one. I also miced the seal against the original one. The Fram was made in Germany but was .030 longer and the seal the same as original. I tapped the new filter a bit to bring it down to the 4.90" as the factory one and used the original seal. Looks good so far and next time it will be a better filter. Thank you

What size crush washer does a 1.8T use?
Thanks...

I use a PELA extractor so I don't have to pull the pan from our convertible. Also, I gave us using aftermarket filters. For the small savings I get them in bulk from online dealers. The price I pay with shipping is equal to what I would pay at the local auto parts shop and the OEM filter ALWAYS fits. Just my .10 EURO worth of an opinion.
