Default Question about service/ oil change

I just had the 20,000 mile service done. When I hopped in my car and took off from the dealer I noticed the sticker in the windshield that said next service at 25,000 miles.
Does this mean I don't have to do an oil change for another 5,000 miles? Or does it mean another full service in 5,k?

Always thought oil changes should be done every 3000 miles. Any thoughts on this?

Did you get an owner's manual?

No unfortunately, I bought mine used last month. And it was from a Jeep dealer not a VW dealer.

http://www.vw.com/myvw/yourcar/servi...tenance/en/us/

I found this at vw.com with MY 2006 and 2.5L engine.

edit -- oops the link doesn't show the schedule, but you can put that in to see that VW says your next service should be at 30K. The schedule refers to a dealership as a "Volkswagen Service Store"

Thank you for your input. I do appreciate it.

I went to that site as well and got the same results. Can't see going 10,000 before an oil change. And the dealer putting 5,000 sticker on windshield. Guess I'll go with the dealer's recommended 5,000. Feel more comfortable. Thanks again.

Default Question about service/ oil change

The owner's manual for my 2007 2.5 Liter NBC calls for oil changes on a 5,000 mile schedule. I don't remember a "severe service" schedule as my driving is all rural highway with average trip length of 15 miles. Just a little more than one thousand miles and I will need to take my NBC in for its second oil change.

synthetic oil, so 5,000 is even a tad on the careful side

Synthetic oil can definitely last more than 5K miles. 10K is not a stretch. Just follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
