30 MPG, on my first day.

It was the day when i picked-up a pre-driven bug. Picked-up from Chicago and driven going home to Holland, MI. a good 239 miles, which used up 8 gallons from my full tank. Got the 8 gallons from filling up full again as soon as i reached home.


Driven in chicago traffic and 70mph on indiana and michigan freeway. with A/C on 50% of the way. I hope it continues to be that way. or even improve. I became so hesitant to get it after seeing MPG reviews here, but i guess it depends upon the driving style of each individual.

seldom do i pass 2000 rpm, as transmission shifts auto after reaching 2000 rpm with light foot on the pedal.

70mph is a breeze, rpm at 2000-2100. 75mph at rpm around 2100-2200.

Drive intelligently, and you'll maintain your average or surpass it, no sweat. Check the other thread on the 2.5L mileage people are getting...

Way to go...did you get your car from a dealer in Chicago, or privately? There have been some great used NBs at the local dealers lately!

bought it from a dealer, still awaiting for the title though. I only have a permit to drive.

I hope it arrive very soon, coz my temporary permit will expire very soon.
