Depends what you're talking about... but pretty much across the board, yes, just about anything you do to
alter the factory settings will be cause for VWoA to avoid giving you warranty service.
Notice my careful wording: It will not necessarily
void your warranty, just give them ammunition to
avoid servicing your car under warranty.
For example: Changing your spark plug wires from black to a colored wire to match your paint color will not void your warranty, unless your car starts misfiring, and then they won't touch it until you replace the factory wires.
Chipping will certainly do it, but a K&N filter (if you believe in such things) probably won't.
Bottom line: If you want your warranty not to be challenged, mod judiciously...
