Default Fuel gage gone crazy

Just bought a CPO 2007 with only 7500 miles on the clock - was owned by a Florida snowbird and used only a few weeks of the year!

I filled her up Tuesday and yesterday when I started the car the needle went to the bottom dead center position (off the scale) and would not budge. Later it would go back to about top dead center position (engine off) but nowhere near zero as normal and past full again (engine on).

Decided to disconnect the battery (black neg) first to see if that might reset it and it worked. However, I never had anything like this with my 2001 GLS. Strangely the radio required recoding which according to the owner manual should not happen so long as the radio stays in the car it was installed in.

Anyone else had any strange stuff happen with their 2007 NB?

Bummer that, but glad it was fixed under warranty. CPO for the win.

I hope you get a dry moment to let it air out.

Broken again and needs a new instrument cluster (the one they ordered wouldn't load up so they ordered another), oh and the wipers don't work properly now.

I'm sorry to hear of you having so many electrical problems on your "new" car.
Are you sure the car hasn't been flooded? Did you get a Carfax?
I am just lurking on here and enjoying it. I have never had a VW but have always been intrigued by them even from my college years back in the sixties.
I reckon I ought to put owning a NB on my "bucket list". I presently have my third Corvette, an '05 Red convertible. Many people with Corvettes have had problems with their gas guages as the sending unit is in the gas tank and very susceptable to damage if high sulfer gasoline like Shell is used in them. I only use Chevron Supreme 93 octane in my Corvette and so far no problem with gas guage. Chevron contains Techron which is a strong engine cleaner. Supposedly it keeps any sulfur residue from building up on the sending unit sensors.

Another similar problem many late model Corvette owners have had is a multitude of electrical "gremlins" cropping up if the battery is on its last leg or has been dead numerous times as yours probably has. Most modern cars have several computers which cause a constant drag on the battery. On a Corvette you will have a nearly dead battery after only three weeks of no cranking and driving if you do not keep a battery maintainer on the battery. Many people with the similar problems simply bought a new battery and the problems went away. If the car still has the original battery, I would definitely replace it.
There may also be some things you have to reset after replacing the battery. On my Vette, the self indexing windows have to be re-calibrated each time you change or disconnect the battery.
Good luck getting all these gremlins under control!

Default What does CPO mean?

Oh, I meant to ask what CPO means since I am a Newbie on here.
I am retired Navy so it means Chief Petty Officer to me.

Certified Pre-Owned. Usually certified by the dealer.

I think Toyota has the best CPO program. Their CPO cars basically come out running like new.

My uncle bought one and if you didn't look at the odometer you'd swear it was brand spanking new. He hasn't had any problems at all, not even burnt light bulbs.
