depends on many factors, most important being maintenance.
use the proper oil and filters, the proper fuel (91+), and the proper tune-up supplies, and you'll get the miles out of it. i took a 2006 jetta in with 243,000 miles this week to replace a failing timing chain guide, the chain still looked awesome and was tight. i replaced all the guides and sent it back out. clutch still looked new as well.

Mine's still good at 19,000.
![]() But if any modern engine is treated with respect, driven kindly in an adult manner, oil changed at recommended intervals with recommended oil, with maintenance performed as scheduled, there's no reason it can't go hundreds of thousands of miles without bother. ![]() |
