Need to look at this on our 2006 NB Ragtop. The fuel mileage has dropped off to 16-17 MPG on the last 3 tanks. Had been getting 21-22 around town before that. Acts like a fuel leak somewhere.

Thanks,

I just had my NB at the dealership too. Maybe they hadn't put this in the system yet, but I'll be sure to have this looked at! Thanks!

It's not that it hasn't been issued they just won't have all the parts until January 31... The only way u can get it for free before they get all the parts is if it has already damage

I didn't see anything about parts replacement, just trimming the tab,or moving the p.s. clamp. My son had the same recall on his 06 Jetta about two years ago.He called, got an appointment, and was in and out in half an hour.

I just spoke to VW dealer and they stated this is a "voluntary" car recalls and that owners affected will be notified in the next 2 - 3 weeks. If you've experienced a 'false neutral' take it to the dealer and they should re-flash the software which is what the campaign is for.

Has it rained recently? I'm betting water slipping past the third brake light and down into the hatch mechanism and shorting it out ....

When they call and say they can't replicate it, ask them if it's possible that the rain you've gotten could have slipped past the gasket on the third brake light and shorted out the sensor for the trunk.

When they agree press to have the seal replaced.

When you come to a GTG let one of us use a liquid gasket sealer around the screw holes for you so this won't happen again

Same with Laycee I checked with the dealership I take her too a while back and the service guy check Laycee for any recalls using her VIN number. Don't find anything. It maynot apply to all like the recall say it dose
