Bent Tie Rod
While the '06 VWNBRT was being inspected for the Under Hood Fuel Supply Line Recall, I asked the Service Dept to perform an alignment check on the car. While I was waiting, they came & got me to look at a bent RF tie rod. Turns out when Roberta hit the curb back in OCT/2010 in her attempt to get out of the way of an oncoming emergency vehicle, she bent this tie rod. I knew she hit the curbing pretty hard because she flattened both right side tires due to punctures in the sidewalls. And to this day, I don't know how she didn't absolutely trash the wheels on the right side. Neither one of them had a curb rash mark! She continues to be a remarkable woman!! That's my story & I'm sticking to it!!
Anyway, tie rod was replaced (dealer had it in stock) and 4-wheel alignment performed. Car drives a lot better now. Only my wallet suffered any irrepairable harm!!
