Default How to check power steering fluid level 2006 model

I looked in the manual and couldn't believe there was nothing about how to check the fluid reservoir level.

Do you check it with the dipstick threaded in or not, engine running or not?

Also, these vehicles will tend to use fluid, correct? Since there is no sign of leakage anywhere yet the level has dropped.

Thanks!

Thumbs up Here you go!

Didn't have an '06 OM handy to check, but had an '07 lying right here, you're right! No mention! Un-friggin' believable! The attached .pdf from the Bentley should give you what you are looking for however.

I have yet to read a thread on here regarding issues with the rack and pinion steering (nothing is serviceable) or about the power steering assist system. Ditto any fluid consumption or leaks.
