Default Need help

I have a 2006 NBC. After shutting it down one night I smelled burning wires. The next day it would not start. I took it to a local import mechanic who informed me that one of my coils had shorted out and my ECU was fried. My question is this, can I replace the ECU with a used one and if so how?

Thanks,
ATMBRZ

yes you can if you can find one in a salvage yard. tehy normally only warraty them for 30 days but if it works when you plug it in chances are it will continue to work. Before replacing the ECU make sure he checks the power cables at the distribution panel. cables get loose and this is generally all that is burned. A coil will not normally make a ECU /ECM go bad.
