I have a 2006 Vert and it will indeed turn blue. If the coolant level is correct, then it's ok. It will disappear when it reaches operating temp. It would only do that when it was really cold outside. It's in your manual, at least it's in ours, and ours is a 2006. It's really not a warning, It's kinda saying, let the engine warm up a few minutes.

That is until two months ago, the warning light would go off and then indicate BLUE again after the vehicle had been driven for more than 10 minutes.
Took vehicle in for service. They indicated coolant level was somewhat low but the system was not leaking. Now the warning light is never BLUE even when the engine is cold.
Took vehicle back for repair and was told that '09 does not have this feature - coolant temperature warning light should never be BLUE.
We replaced coolant temperature sensor which was a 4-pin just like our '98 Hardtop Beetle.
The warning light still never turns BLUE.
Bottom line is the warning light in '09 worked just like the warning light in '98 - BLUE = cold and RED = hot but now warning light in '09 is never BLUE.
Does this scenario indicate that we may have a computer problem?
We have had a few other strange things happen - radio suddenly shuts off while driving, random warning lights indicate when there is no problem, and windows roll down when door is opened but then they do not close when door is closed, etc.
Thanks!
