I got my 2000 bug on August 19, 1999.

Since then I've always thought it was a law - if you have a NB and see one, you MUST meep-meep (my first mod was a 1968 horn) and wave. (Just like if there's another NB in the parking lot, you MUST park next to them, or as close to them as possible.)

More often than not I won't get a reaction, but it's nice to know that I'm a such law-abiding citizen (heh heh heh) - besides, it makes my husband skooch down in his seat .

I'm always surprised by any reactions from non-NBs though - the first few times I wasn't sure if they were making fun of me or just being cool; I also get a kick out of seeing kids doing the 'punch-bug' routine.

I have peace signs on my rear lights and I absolutely love watching people in my rear view mirror as they come up behind me at a stop! There's usually alot of pointing and smiles.

For those of you that do honk/wave at other NBs, have you ever noticed that certain colors are more "friendly" than others? Just wondering - I've come up with my own conclusions over the years - 3 that are the most friendly and 3 that are not (so far I have found no exceptions).

So ... for those of you who may ever make it to Southern Maryland, be on alert - I honk and wave!!!
