i'm sure the tech that did your oil change didn't have the tool pictured above, so he stuck a screwdiver into the little drain "nipple" and damaged it.
the first time i changed the oil on a new 2.0t/2.5 i couldn't believe my eyes. it's a stupid contraption for sure.
