I wouldn't have gone into the building until he left. No coffee is worth that. Had a similar thing happen this past summer, but no keying, just a punch to the head. I took his as to court though and his tune changed.
Anyone who confronts someone outside of a vehicle has serious issues. Fingers, yelling, honking, flashing, cursing, etc. are all acceptable. Once you get out of the car, you've crossed the line.
