Having grown up in Europe, I can tell you with a fair degree of certainty that German engineers can't even
imagine such a thing as an 80oz. soft-drink.
Not for one person. Not in one cup holder. I think it's an exclusively American thing.
Even here in Canada they are extremely rare. The cup holders in my '98 hold a Tim Horton's extra large (biggest size) coffee with no problem.
