Time for updates
Last friday I got my hands on 40 sq.ft of B-Quiet Extreme sound dumpening material, and me being me, I installed all of it same night... well.. it took me close to 16 hours total but it's done
It was 1.6 mm thick and 1 feet wide roll made of sticky asphalt like material covered with thin aluminum. It's a sound dumpening material and what it does is it holds on to metal pieces and prevent them from vibrating and rattling. After I removed all the panels and carpets from the rear end of my bug I took it for a ride, and after I installed B-Quiet I took it for another spin and... man!!! watta diference it made. Overal amount of noise coming from the back is brought down for at least 30%, and that include road noise and engine vibration noise. Yap, your trunk is vibrating when you rev the engine. I am so happy with the results that I am going to cover the whole interior when worm seasson comes ( must be worm for instalation in order for material to stick ). I plan on purchasing another 100sq.ft of B-Quiet ULTIMATE and cover engine bay as well.

This is the back of the bug when panels and carpets are removed.

I started off with removing rear seat. Bench came off when I uncliped two metal clips under the seat but for upper part... well... first remove two bolts at the back of the part ( under the zipper ) and then flip the clips on the bottom sides using flat screewdriver.
I removed side panels next. Just pry them out and lift a bit to slide them off. It's that easy. Keep all the clips, you might need them later Disconect seat belt by puling up plastic cover and removing big bolt(1). Next is to remove speakers: Disconnect wires(2), slide off the rubber seal which is glued for speaker housing(3), remove screews(4).

Next is to remove central rear plastic piece on both sides ( the one with the power plug and trunk light ). There are 4 screews on 3 locations.

Take them off just enough to disconnect electrical connections on both sides.

After that, remove carpets and clean all the surfaces. You don't have to go crazy on cleaning like I did, basicly, just remove grease and wacuumclean dust and dirt. I started off with door pannels.

And, that's me, after 10 hours of hard labour.
I enjoued every moment of it.
