My wife has kind of laid claim to it, so I still have to drive my pick-up.
I think diesels would be more popular in the US if we had some to choose from. VW is the only consistent supplier of diesel passenger cars and even they took two years off, 2007 and 2008. Rumor is, later this year they will sell the Rabbit/Golf with a TDI option. MB has been hit and miss with diesels and I guess this year BMW has introduced a diesel 3 class I think.
My other cars are a 2008 Ford Taurus and 1994 Ford Ranger pick-up. I can only imagine how nice they would be with a diesel, but US auto makers refuse to have anything to do with diesel unless it’s in a big pick-up, ¾ ton or bigger. And they wonder why they keep losing market share.
