Does this downpipe eliminate the cat and O2 sensors? Does a 1.8T have post-cat O2 sensors? If so then you will get a CEL if the cat is removed. If all you have is pre-cat sensors get a bung welded into the pipe so you can reinstall them.
Be aware that you are unlikely to see any noticeable power gains by doing this. You won't hurt anything either...but exhaust mods usually show little benefit on an otherwise stock engine. It will drop your EGT's somewhat, which is good for your turbo no matter what. And it also allows you to add more power in the future.
