Yesterday when attending the bar at the place where I play darts, a kid (18, 19 or perhaps 20?) when asking for a beer said "U" to me. This U is the formal "You" which you say to older people or people you don't know.
I gave him the beer (we serve alcohol to kids 16 and older, so no breaking of the law) and asked him to PLEASE say "je" to me instead. Meaning the informal way.
