Actually it was something I learned in Freshman biology in college. The professor's theory was that the British don't have fluoride added to their water like Americans.
Don't shoot the messenger, its just what I was taught.
Not sure what you're referring to by "Hollywood" teeth (veneers?) but I think its more uncommon for people NOT to have had braces. I had braces and have never had a cavity in my 29 years here. I guess I have good genes.
