Thumbs up

Saturday was an awesome day!!! 10 degrees cooler would have been nice though....

There were about 25 vintage VW's, a New Beetle and a Eurovan in the special VW parking area, as well as a couple of Westy's and a vintage Beetle convertible in the camping area.

The music was awesome, the food was good and there was a bunch of vendors selling tie-dye goodies, jewelry, hula-hoops and groovy tapestries. Food choices included hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, pulled pork sandwiches and funnel cakes. No "special" brownies or grilled cheese sandwiches.....

I have never seen so much tie-dye in one place. There was a couple there celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary - they were married at the original Woodstock music festival and they renewed their vows (complete with a minister) on stage after the Grateful Dead tribute band played.

The crowd varied in age from babies in strollers to seniors in tye-dye and peace sign pendants. Even though it was warm and there was a beer garden, most everybody was well behaved and enjoyed admiring the VW's.

They were offering helicopter rides and our daughter got a huge thrill by going for one.

I'll post pictures when I get some free time - my daughter might have gotten an aerial shot of the row of VW's.

Peace, love and music!!!

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Crown Royal in one hand - Cigar in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Kick Ass Ride!"
