Glad yours is holding up better than mine! My cord does that as well. Mine hasn't really taken any abuse. Its fallen backward off my bed once. I dunno wtf its deal is.
I started having hard drive issues about 6 months in. I don't have a single song/video downloaded to it. Just various pictures of vehicles & vacations.
I still might call Dell and see if they will do warranty work on the hard drive since its a "pre-existing" issue that they've helped me with in the past (that almost sounds like part of the healthcare debate).
